Organize your watchlist, seenlist and hidden titles
Seen it, want it, never again — three verdicts cover almost every film you’ll ever meet. Filing them consistently is what makes the rest of Movieo feel like it knows you.
Every movie page and card carries the same three controls. Here’s what each one means, and how to fix it when a film lands in the wrong place.
- File what you’ve watched on the seenlist. Press ✓ on the movie page or card. The seenlist is your permanent record — and the promise that comes with it: a seen film is never recommended to you again.
- Park candidates on the watchlist. Press + for anything you want to watch someday. This is the list you’ll open at 9pm, so keep it honest — a watchlist of things you feel obligated to watch helps no one.
- Hide the never-agains with the blacklist. Press ✕ for films you never want offered. Blacklisted titles are excluded from your recommendations entirely.
- Move a mis-filed movie in one click. The three lists are mutually exclusive. Watched something off your watchlist? Just press ✓ — the film moves to the seenlist on its own. There’s nothing to remove first.
- Review your lists from the user menu. Open the seenlist, watchlist or blacklist from the user menu, top right, and prune now and then. The recommendation engine reads these lists as the truth about you, so the record is worth keeping clean.
What disappears where
In recommendations, exclusion is absolute: nothing on your seenlist or blacklist is ever offered, enforced when a batch is generated and again when it’s displayed. In the catalog, your state is folded into every view instead — cards carry their seen / saved / hidden mark, so filed titles stop reading as options while your browse stays complete.
Blacklisting and disliking are different tools. A dislike reaction teaches your taste profile something about you; the blacklist simply removes a film from consideration.
During taste calibration, the “want to watch” button files the movie straight onto your watchlist — no separate step needed.
All three lists are free forever, and everything in them can be exported whenever you like.
The ✓ / + / ✕ buttons are on every movie page and card.
