What is Movieo?
A place for discovering and sharing movies, made with love by a couple of friends.
We adore movies, but finding great ones to watch was usually a hassle. We had been searching for a nicely designed, simple interface for movie browsing and couldn’t find one — so we made one ourselves.
Movieo started as a passion project and keeps improving thanks to people who send us feedback, build public lists, and argue with our picks. The product has grown from a filterable catalog into a full taste companion: a record of what you’ve seen, tools for deciding what’s next, and an AI layer that reasons from your own history — never from a generic chart.
What we believe
- Your record earns the recommendation. Personalization should come from what you’ve actually watched and rated, not from what’s trending.
- Decide, don’t scroll forever. Fewer steps to a confident pick beats an infinite wall of covers.
- The free core stays free. Browsing, tracking, lists, import and export are the foundation, not a trial.
- Say what the machine knows — and what it doesn’t. Every AI pick states its reason, and an honest caveat when there is one.
- Your data is portable. Import your history from elsewhere, export everything whenever you like.
Where the data comes from
Movie metadata comes from TMDB and streaming availability from JustWatch — details on the data sources page. Movieo never streams films; it shows you where a film is available and stops there.
