A movie that wants viewers to fondly laugh about surviving puberty, but is more concerned with horniness than cleverness.

Top critics, in their words
To make the premise of a 30-year-old who acts like a 15-year-old work, Mr. Pollak has made everyone else in the film act like a 15-year-old, too. It doesn't quite click.
Even a talented cast can't overcome the script from five screenwriters, whose uneven final product is surprisingly bland for all its raunchiness.
It manages to break ground as it normalizes conversations about sex and gives viewers an eye into all kinds of preferences and practices - with plenty of laughs along the way.
Though Pollak's direction in his first narrative feature is solid, The Late Bloomer is mostly an excuse for predictable sex jokes and ample toplessness.
